Alot of the decisions that we make as an adult stems from the kind of childhood we had. If someone had to change homes, for example, quite frequently or if someone had a chaotic home environment then what they would crave more as an adult would be a house of their own, more defined relationships with other people. In other words, they would gravitate towards security more. whereas, if someone was pampered and protected alot during their growing years, they would crave an adventurous life as an adult. Of course, there are exceptions in both of these cases. And then, there comes a third category, where people want a little bit of goodness of both of these worlds. That is where majority of people, including me, belong. Balance is the keyword here.
